President Donald Trump will be announcing his pick to replace retiring Supreme Court justice Anthony Kennedy tonight. It's an important announcement with implications for America's future. It's arguably even more important than The Bachelorette, which Trump's press conference will be interrupting.
The Bachelorette host Chris Harrison announced Monday afternoon that ABC News' coverage of Trump's announcement will interrupt this week's episode at 9 p.m. ET, so viewers who are DVRing the episode should extend their recordings for at least 30 minutes to be safe. The episode will then pick up and air in full after the announcement is complete.
Here's my PSA for #BachelorNation @abcnews will be cutting in at 9/8 ET/CT tonight for SCOTUS announcement. #TheBachelorette will be "paused" and seen in its entirety. Now go have a great day and I'll see you tonight!

So if you use The Bachelorette as an escape from politics, sorry. Reality always intrudes on reality TV.
The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
