After helping her younger brother cover up a murder scene, it's safe to say that Hannah (Dania Ramirez) is no princess in the fairy-tale drama Tell Me a Story. Kevin Williamson's twisted take on classic fairy tales finds the war veteran jumping into quick action to keep herself and her brother Gabe (Davi Santos) out of jail, and TV Guide has your first look at what's in store.

In an exclusive sneak peek at Thursday's episode, titled "Loss," Hannah uncovers new information about the shady character her brother accidentally killed in the series premiere that may actually work in their favor. A quick Google search reveals that Dan, who bled to death following a scuffle with Gabe and Billy (Austin Butler), probably won't be missed given his lengthy rap sheet and convenient acquittal on a murder charge several years back.

"This guy was a piece of sh--," Hannah notes in the video. True, Hannah, true.

Dan's checkered past opens the door for a lengthy list of suspects who may have wanted him dead, giving a Hannah and Gabe -- the show's stand-ins for Hansel and Gretel -- a decent shot at getting away with murder. Watch out, Annalise Keating!

Set in present-day New York City, Tell Me a Story turns familiar stories like "The Three Little Pigs" and "Little Red Riding Hood" into dark tales of love, loss, greed, revenge, and murder. The series is based on the Spanish-language series Érase una vez from Marcos Osorio Vidal.

For Dania Ramirez, the new series is a far cry from her glass slipper-wearing days as Cinderella on Once Upon a Time and gives her an opportunity to explore something different. "In Once Upon a Time, I think they really tried to do a different take of what Cinderella was. Very badass," she told TV Guide. "But because of the network that [Tell Me a Story] is on and because it's Kevin Williamson's vision, I really got to explore what a real badass feels like and that feels really great."

Catch her in action on Tell Me a Story, which is now streaming on CBS All Access. New episodes drop every Thursday.

(Full disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS.)
