T.R. Knight is returning to the Shondaland family!

The actor has been tapped for a recurring role on Season 2 of The Catch, the Shondaland drama about a private investigator Alice (Mireille Enos) who gets double-crossed by her con man fiance Benjamin (Peter Krause), TVGuide.com has learned. ABC has not released the official character description, but the role has been tailor-made for Knight.

"Shonda, Betsy and I are beyond excited to have T.R. back in the Shondaland family -- and on The Catch in a role the was created and written especially for him," said executive producer Allan Heinberg in a statement.

Knight is, of course, most famous for his tenure as George O'Malley on Shonda Rhimes' flagship drama Grey's Anatomy, for which he earned an Emmy nomination. His character was killed off in the fifth season after Knight, who was called a gay slur by former co-star Isaiah Washington on set, claimed there was a "breakdown in communication" between him and Rhimes, which had drastically affected his amount of screen time.

There's clearly no bad blood between Knight, who most recently starred on 11.22.63, and Rhimes anymore though. "This has been a thrilling secret to keep! One of my favorite family members is home," the producer said in a statement.

"Working with Shonda, Betsy [Beers], and Allan again fills me with immense joy. I am heartened to be returning to Shondaland and excited to work with this exceptional cast!" Knight added.

The Catch will return for Season 2 next spring on ABC.
