Supernatural: Is Jack Headed to the Dark Side?

A meeting with Lucifer could have unintended consequences

Jack's (Alexander Calvert) biggest struggle on Supernaturalthus far has been whether he can be a decent person or if he's destined to give into those dark urges that come with being the son of the Devil. And while his strong bond with the Winchesters has tethered him to the good side, there's still a chance for the young Nephilim to cross over -- especially since he's so curious about meeting his father Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino).

According to Alexander Calvert, that inevitable face-to-face meeting with dear old dad might end up being more influential than Jack could ever have anticipated. "I think because Jack is so new to the world, he hasn't carved out exactly who he is," Calvert explained to TV Guide. "So having his real dad have a relationship with him, there's a huge opportunity for Lucifer to influence Jack in ways that Jack had never even thought possible before. It's opening up Jack's world."

Now that Lucifer is fully invested in connecting with his son, there's no doubt he'll pull out all the stops in order to sway Jack's favor from his adopted family -- made up of Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), Mary (Samantha Smith) and Castiel (Misha Collins) -- over to the archangel's side. Let's just hope Jack can resist his father's powers of persuasion and that he remains in his rightful place on Team Free Will because although we've only the scratched the surface of the Nephilim's powers, he's already proven himself to be a formidable ally. And as Jack continues to come into his own, the show will explore more of his awesome abilities which could prove quite useful to the Winchesters, including being able to eviscerate a group angels with one small hand gesture.

"We see these little moments of how powerful Jack truly is, but he definitely hasn't realized his full potential," said Calvert. "Jack only has more places to discover with himself, within his powers. Jack has unlimited, untapped, unscratched potential."

If he finally gets a complete grasp of his powers, there's no telling what he'll be able to accomplish. In the meantime, Jack will have to focus defeating Michael before the archangel invades our world with the intent to destroy it. Plus, the Winchesters and Castiel need to figure out how to keep a rift open long enough for them to find Jack and Mary and finally bring them home.
