Supergirl Super Bummer: Winn Will Play a Smaller Role Next Season

Nooooo, not Winn!

It looks like we'll be seeing a lot less of Winn (Jeremy Jordan) around the DEO next season on Supergirl.

TVLine reports that Jordan's role of Winn Schott has been reduced to a recurring character for Season 4, so while he'll still play a significant part in the upcoming season, he won't be a permanent presence the way he is now.

"We love Jeremy, and even though he's [not going to be around full-time], we're not saying goodbye to Winn at all," executive producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller told TVLine. "We're already breaking big stories for him right now for the fall, and I think the fans will be excited to see what he has coming up."

Rovner and Queller have teased that the reason for Winn's reduced role will be hinted at in the upcoming season finale, and that he'll be "fulfilling his full potential" next season. Is Winn going to join the actual FBI or something?

Supergirl: Brainiac-5 Will Be Around a Lot in Season 5

Whatever he ends up doing, it's nice to know that we'll have Brainy (Jesse Rath) around next season -- since Rath has just been upped to series regular -- to help with the technological assists whenever Winn is out of the office.

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8/7c on the CW.

(Full disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS, one of The CW's parent companies.)
