National City will have to make room for some new faces next season. Supergirlhas added three new faces for Season 4, including The Trans List's Nicole Maines as Nia Nal aka Dreamer, who breaks ground as TV's first trans superhero.

Nia is described as a "soulful young transgender woman with a fierce drive to protect others." The season will find her coming into her own as the superhero Dreamer, following a similar path as Kara as she transitioned into Supergirl. With plenty in common, we're sure they'll make fast friends!

Also joining the cast is April Parker Jones (The Last Ship, The Fosters) as Colonel Haley, who's a stickler for the rules. She'll do whatever it takes to protect her country, even if that means going against her own best interests. In addition, Falling Waters' David Ajala heads to the series as Manchester Black, a man with a dark past who uses charm and humor to deflect the pain that comes from his brutal missions.

They join Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath) and Agent Liberty (Sam Witwer) who were bumped to series regulars.

Supergirl returns for Season 4 Sunday, Oct. 14 at 8/7c on the CW.

(Full disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS, one of the CW's parent companies.)
