It's old-school vs. new-school on CBS' Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials special this year.

Hosted by The NFL Today analyst Boomer Esiason and Scorpion star Katharine McPhee, the interactive event (now in its 15th year) will pit five more recent commercials, picked by McPhee, against a handful from yesteryear, picked by Esiason.

And, unlike the Super Bowl itself, fans can have a direct impact on the outcome of this competition. Based on fan votes (via this site), one Old School and one New School ad will be chosen as "finalists," and votes submitted during the live broadcast will determine a winner.

"Back in 1989 when I played in Super Bowl XXIII, the Super Bowl commercials were a story," Esiason says in a promo for the annual special. "But now they are the story."

In addition, Entertainment Tonight co-host Kevin Frazier will be reporting on location in Phoenix to find out how the city is preparing to host football's biggest night.
