Stranger Things Stars Weigh in on the Big Season 3 Mystery: Will Billy Hook Up with Nancy's Mom?

The cast wants it just as much as we do

Forget the Upside Down and the Shadow Monster for a second, and let's just talk about the real Stranger Things cliff-hanger: Will Billy (Dacre Montgomery) bang Nancy's mom (Cara Buono)?

At the end of the Netflix drama's second season, Mrs. Wheeler got out of her candle-lit bubble bath to answer the door where she was greeted by a very debonair Billy, who replaced his typical anger issues with some serious charm. The sexual tension between the two was so palpable, it sent the internet into an immediate frenzy. But will Season 3 actually go there and find Billy and Mrs. Wheeler in a torrid affair?

"I would love to see that happen as much as probably a lot of the fans would," Charlie Heaton, who plays Jonathan, tells TV Guide.

"I mean, I think it's weird, but hey, if they do, it's going to be an interesting story," adds Caleb McLaughlin, who stars as Lucas. "But I don't know. I'm going to try not to think about it."

Stranger Things Mega Buzz: Steve May (Finally!) Get a New Love Interest

While the stars aren't sure what's in store for Billy and Mrs. Wheeler since filming on Season 3 hasn't yet begun, executive producer Shawn Levy does promise us that we haven't seen the last of those two characters together.

"That scene where she was in the bath and then he ate the cookie in her kitchen," Levy recalls. "I don't even know if it was a fan favorite, but it was a producers' favorite. The Duffers and I love that scene, and so I'm just going to say that the Billy and Mrs. Wheeler dynamic is not yet done."

So will Billy and Mrs. Wheeler do it? Maybe, maybe not. But it sounds like we can at least expect some more hilariously seductive scenes between the pair -- hopefully involving even cookies, too.
