If you haven't glued yourself to Netflix's Stranger Things yet, do it! It's one of the year's biggest surprises and is currently the "OMG have you watched [show title] yet?!?!" series du jour.

The eight-episode first season, a supernatural mystery about the disappearance of a young boy in Indiana, is a loving homage to 1980s movies, Steven King and John Carpenter, yet still manages to come off as wholly original.

Although Netflix has yet to formally announce a second season of Stranger Things, the first ended on a major cliffhanger and series creators Matt and Ross Duffer -- known as the Duffer Brothers -- are definitely prepared to continue the story.

"We wanted [Season 1] to feel like a big movie, so we wanted to resolve the main tension of where Will went and what happened to him," Matt Duffer told reporters during the Television Critics Association fall previews. "We wanted to solve that so it feels very much complete in that sense. But then there's the bigger mythology behind what happened, so there's a lot of dangling threads at the end."

"It's open ended in a way that if people wanted, and Netflix wanted, we could explore and continue this storyline," he said.
