Starz has ordered 10 half-hour episodes of Ash vs. Evil Dead for 2015. The series will continue the Evil Dead film franchise, which consists of the trilogy The Evil DeadThe Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness, and feature an all-new story featuring series hero Ash as he battles an all-new Deadite threat to humanity.

Reprising his role as Ash will be cult hero Bruce Campbell (an Evil Dead series wouldn't be the Evil Dead without him), and franchise director Sam Raimi will helm the first episode and produce along with Campbell. Rob Tapert will also return as producer.

"Evil Dead has always been a blast," Raimi said in a statement. "Bruce, Rob and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the next chapter in Ash's lame, but heroic saga. With his chainsaw arm and his 'boomstick,' Ash is back to kick some monster butt. And brother, this time there's a truckload of it."
