Box Office: Star Wars Still On Top, Hits Billion-Dollar Mark

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is still the leading force at the box office, taking in $153.5 million to make it the largest second weekend of all time, Box Office Mojo reports. Star Wars is now a billion-dollar movie too, grossing more than $544 million domestically and another $546 million internationally in 12 days.

Two films in their first weekend took the second and third spots: Daddy's Home, the Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg comedy, came in second with $38.8 million, whileJoy, which stars Jennifer Lawrence as self-made entrepreneur and home-shopping guru Joy Mangano, took third place with $17.5 million. (With The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part IIat No. 9, Lawrence has two movies in the box office top 10.)

Sisters, the Tina Fey and Amy Poehler comedy in its second week, came in fourth with $13.8 million, with Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip rounding out the top five with $12.7 million.
