The president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has apologized to its sound branch over comments Mike Myers made during last month's Oscars, the Los Angeles Times reports. At the March 25 event, the Austin Powers star dismissed the importance of best sound and sound editing while presenting the winners in those categories. The following day, one of the governors of the academy's sound branch complained that the comments were an insult.
