Chicago producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron have signed a deal with Fox to develop The Rise, an hourlong musical-drama series about a group of aspiring singers and dancers living in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Zadan and Meron have also partnered with ABC to produce a small-screen adaptation of the Broadway musical 1776.
