The mass exodus continues at Saturday Night Live.

A day after featured player Brooks Wheelan tweeted that he had been fired from the variety show, fellow newcomers Noël Wells and John Milhiser were axed as well, Deadline.com reports.

The best SNL cast members of all time

Like Wheelan, Wells and Milhiser had trouble standing out from the large ensemble during Season 39, during which time seven new cast members were added.

Wells, the show's first Hispanic female cast member, was best known for impersonating Lena Dunham as Hannah Horvath in a memorable Girls parody. Milhiser is best remembered for impersonating Matthew McConaughey and Jon Cryer.

Brooks Wheelan says he's been fired from SNL

It remains to be seen whether rookies Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, Sasheer Zamata and SNL writer-turned-featured player Mike O'Brien will be asked back for Season 40. However, Deadline reports that discussions with O'Brien are underway for him to return, but whether it would be as a writer, actor or both is unclear.

The late-night staple is also losing Nasim Pedrad, who is leaving the show after five seasons to star in ex-SNL writer John Mulaney's show Mulaney.

Saturday Night Live returns this fall. Will you miss Wells and Milhiser? Who do you want to return?
