Sound the Alarms: There Was a Mini Smallville Reunion Over the Weekend

Talk about a throwback!

MaryAnn Sleasman

Wizard World Chicago was a con full of reunions, from the cast of Boy Meets World recreating their iconic portrait to a trio of former Smallville cast members -- specifically, Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum and Ian Somerhalder -- taking the time for a group selfie.

Rosenbaum posted the photo to his Twitter. Take a look:

While Somerhalder, who appeared on the WB-turned-CW superhero show as Adam Knight, went on to star in Lost and The Vampire Diaries, Welling and Rosenbaum have largely stuck to guest roles on TV and bit parts on the big screen following the end of Smallville in 2011. A little impromptu selfie action proved that the gang still looks good together (and can tolerate one another!). It also, quite naturally, sparked further talk of a revival.

Smallville's Lasting Legacy Is Not Heroics but Head Trauma

Even if a full revival isn't possible, Welling and Rosenbaum previously spoke about the possibility of doing an animated series. Basically, Rosenbaum is really excited by the prospect of becoming Lex Luthor again... without having to shave his head this time.

If we want another nudge toward a formal reunion of some sort, Kristen Kreuk, who played Lana Lang, has also gone on the record as being in favor of reprising her role. However, we're assuming the show would have to go on without former Clark Kent bestie Chloe Sullivan, what with actress Allison Mack currently in a legal pickle after allegedly running a sex cult. Yes, really.

Smallville is streaming on Hulu.
