Showtime Likes Spielberg's Alter'd States

Showtime is stepping up development of The United States of Tara, summed up by Variety as a seriocomic half-hour series, in the vein of Weeds, concerning a wife and mother of two teens who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The pilot for Tara, which is based on an idea from Steven Spielberg (whose DreamWorks will produce the series), shows off at least two of Mom's alters: a slutty teen girl, and a macho adult male.
