Showtime at the Apollo, the famed variety special which has seen the likes of Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson perform, is headed your way as a weekly series and TV Guide has your first look.

In this exclusive preview of the premiere, slated for March 1, the L.A. Roller Girls take the stage with their infectiously upbeat roller skating act in front of an audience that isn't quite sure how to feel about the performance. Let's hope they can make it all the way through without an appearance from the Sandman, the infamous tap dancing figure who finds creative ways to usher jeered acts off the stage.

Taking place at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, Showtime at the Apollo will be hosted by TV personality Steve Harvey alongside The Real's Adrienne Houghton. The series will feature a variety of acts including singers, comedians, dance troupes, performance groups, a professional daredevil, a contortionist and more. Plus, a number of famous acts will drop by for special performances including Fifth Harmony and Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull.

Alongside Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson, other music icons who have performed at the Apollo Theater include Prince, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill.

Showtime at the Apollo, hosted by Steve Harvey and Adrienne Houghton, premieres Thursday, March 1 at 9/8c on Fox.
