TMZ obtained and posted an audio recording of the exchange, in which Doherty can be heard explaining to the dispatcher, "This is going to sound incredibly strange ... my name is Shannen Doherty and I'm an actress. I'm on Twitter, sadly, and there is a girl that is threatening to shoot herself and she lives somewhere over there."

Doherty, who lives in Los Angeles, contacted the Westampton Township Police Department in New Jersey, saying she had received several disturbing tweets from the fan and had reason to believe she had access to a gun. Police went to the girl's home and determined that she was not a threat to herself, and the actress later thanked the department via Twitter for the quick response.

But she's not exactly grateful now about the call going public.

"I am shocked and horrified that the 911 call was released," Doherty tweeted Sunday. "Exploitive to the girl and uncalled for. Where is privacy in this country?"
