NPR's hit Serial is making the move from your iPhone to your television.

The true-crime podcast, a spin-off of NPR's This American Life, is being developed as a cable drama, Deadline reports. The Last Man on Earth's Chris Miller and Phil Lord have optioned the rights to Sarah Koenig's podcast and are working on a series that would go behind the scenes as the podcast dives into a criminal case.

The first season of the popular podcast examined the investigation of a young woman's murder and her ex-boyfriend's alleged part in the crime. Season 2 of Serial, which may delve into the story of a POW who went missing in Afghanistan, is expected to premiere this fall.
