Attention Comic-Con fans! Get ready to leap straight into the action this Thursday, July 22 as TV Guide Magazine and the Paley Center for the Media host "A Leap of Faith: A Quantum Leap Retrospective." The panel will feature Leap star Scott Bakula and look back at the cultural phenomenon of the 1989-93 time-traveling series.
"There's something pure about the show," Bakula tells TV Guide Magazine. "It was ahead of its time and it's still fresh."
Bakula — who will be attending his first Comic-Con since promoting 1995's Lord of Illusions — will introduce clips from his favorite episodes, including "The Leap Home," the Season 3 premiere. Bakula is also not afraid to admit that he won't be the biggest Leap fan in the audience. "I always slip up, I'm the first one to admit that the fans know more than I do," Bakula says with a laugh. "I have no ego about that, I'm always grateful!"
Other classic sci-fi series on Bakula's resume will also get some panel time, including his stints on Star Trek: Enterprise, Invasion and Chuck. As for his favorite Leap moment, Bakula says there's one that always has people talking. "The leap in and leap out were probably one of the best hooks that anybody's ever had for a show," Bakula says. "I was in the middle of Vietnam, or I was in a chimpanzee cage — they really had a lot of fun with that."
