The Schitt's Creek Holiday Special Is Finally on Netflix

If you're one of the manySchitt's Creek fans who only recently discovered the series on a streaming service, you might've missed out on an important bonus episode that happened between Seasons 4 and 5 of the regular series: The Schitt's Creek Holiday Spectacular!

Until now, the one-off episode wasn'tavailable to streaming Netflix, so there's a good chance many fans have overlooked this bonus segment, whether willingly or not -- and even if you did happen to know about and try to find it online, the results were frustratingly bare for a while.

On Friday, though, Dan Levy gifted the watching world with the news that Netflix had finally added the holiday special to its streaming library for Schitt's Creek. To find it, look for Season 4, Episode 13: "Merry Christmas, Johnny Rose" (Note: it aired in December 2018, so it's technically closer to Season 5's premiere than Season 4's finale, but that's just the way this Christmas cookie crumbled, apparently.)

Like any great episode of Schitt's Creek, the holiday special centers on Johnny Rose (Eugene Levy) making plans that the rest of the Rose family wants no part of -- this time, a Christmas Eve party he hopes will live up to the halcyon days of when they were all living lavishly. Despite his disappointment, the events that follow eventually illuminate once again how much better things are for everyone in this new, much humbler home, whether he gets to wow a fancy crowd with his skills at the mic or not.

So, if you haven't seen the Schitt's Creek holiday episode yet and have been yearning for something to fill the post-Season 5 void, hit up Netflix for this merry little treat. We love that journey for you.
