Scarlett Johansson is (the only person) standing up for John Travolta.

During the Oscars red carpet, a photo was snapped -- and went viral -- of Travolta with his hands around Johansson's waist, giving her a kiss on the cheek. Johansson's odd facial expression creeped out the hundreds of thousands of people who shared the photo. Later in the show, Travolta got handsy with Idina Menzel's face, fueling the fire. But Johansson, who co-starred with Travolta in 2004's A Love Song for Bobby Long, says there was absolutely nothing weird about their one-sided embrace.

"There is nothing strange, creepy or inappropriate about John Travolta," Johansson told the Associated Press in a statement. "The image that is circulating is an unfortunate still-frame from a live-action encounter that was very sweet and totally welcome. That still photo does not reflect what preceded and followed if you see the moment live."
