A&E Networks and Discovery Communications are both interested in acquiring Sarah Palin's new reality series, according to Variety.

Tentatively titled Sarah Palin's Alaska, the series has been compared to documentary hit Planet Earth. In the show, which will be produced by Mark Burnett, the former governor gives guided tours of her native state, including trips to a gold mine and visits with local fishermen. It's been reported that Palin's family could also make appearances on the series as well.

Sarah Palin, reality star? Ex-governor shopping around series

Reports first surfaced that Palin, 46, was shopping the series two weeks ago. The broadcast networks passed on the project, but A&E and Discovery have both expressed interest. Discovery would likely air the show on its flagship station or its sister station, TLC. A&E sees potential for the series on either its air, Lifetime or History Channel.

The former governor of Alaska is asking for between $1 and $1.5 million per episode, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sarah Palin makes her (paid) Fox News debut

Despite her failed bid for the vice presidency in 2008, Palin has remained a fixture in the public eye thanks to her new job on Fox News and her best-selling book, Going Rogue.
