Look out, Mama Bear is on the rampage! Former vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin is defending America again, taking another stance on a divisive political debate. Only this time the topic is a movie.

Clint Eastwood's military film American Sniper, a dramatic account of the life of U.S. Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, is all people want to talk about, with traditional Democrats blasting the film as propaganda and most Republicans viewing it as patriotic cinema. You'll never guess where Palin stands on the issue.

Palin took to Facebook to fire some long-distance shots all the way from Alaska at those criticizing the film.

"God bless our troops, especially our snipers," she wrote. "Hollywood leftists: while caressing shiny plastic trophies you exchange among one another while spitting on the graves of freedom fighters who allow you to what you do, just realize the rest of America knows you're not fit to shine Chris Kyle's combat boots."

Insanely scandalous celebrity fashions from the Grammy awards

Palin's comments come after Seth Rogen compared the film to the Nazi propaganda film shown in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds and filmmaker Michael Moore called snipers cowards. Despite the backlash, the film set a January box office record, with more than $105 million in ticket sales over the holiday weekend.

Supporters of American Sniper have praised the film for its look at combat in the field and PTSD in troops that make it home. Critics say it promotes war and overlooks claims Kyle made that have been debunked, including stories that he beat up Jesse Ventura in a bar (which Ventura sued for libel and won) and that he shot and killed 30 looters during Hurricane Katrina while perched atop the Superdome.
