Sanaa Lathan, alleged Beyoncé biter and star of Shots Fired and Love & Basketball, is joining CBS All Access' Twilight Zone reboot, the streaming service announced Thursday. Lathan will star in an episode of the anthology series called "Rewind." She's the first confirmed cast member for the in-production series besides executive producer Jordan Peele, who will serve as the host and narrator, like creator Rod Serling did on the original series.

CBS All Access announced Lathan's casting with a spiffy gif:

The Twilight Zone originally ran from 1959 to 1964 and remains one of the most groundbreaking and acclaimed TV series of all time (TV Guide called it the fifth-best ever in 2013). It was previously revived in 1985 and 2002. The new series will serve as CBS All Access' answer to Netflix's Black Mirror, the current gold standard for anthology series that's heavily indebted to the original Twilight Zone. Peele's Twilight Zone is coming in 2019.

(Full disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS.)
