The victim, an unidentified photographer, placed Brand under citizen's arrest, and the comedian was taken into custody on a simple battery charge, Airport Police spokeswoman Belinda Nettles told the AP. Brand was held on $20,000 bail and released later that day on his own recognizance, Nettles said.

A video on TMZ.com shows Brand, 35, pushing paparazzi out of the way as he and fiancée Katy Perry entered the airport. "If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me," Perry, 25, tweeted after the incident.
Reps for Brand did not immediately respond to TVGuide.com's request for comment.
