Early Monday morning, the Republican Texas Senator revealed his bid on the social media platform.

Cruz, 44, made headlines in 2013 when he read a passage from Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham while on the Senate floor. The Senator is expected to make a more traditional announcement on Monday night at Liberty University in Virginia. He's the first person to officially announce their candidacy for the 2016 election.
