Rosie O'Donnell may be leaving The View, but don't expect her to discuss her departure on the air.

Instead, O'Donnell released a personal video Monday, in which she discusses her decision with fans directly.

6 behind-the-scenes moments you didn't see on the new View

"People are asking, why didn't we talk about my leaving The View today on The View? I want to let you know that everybody wanted me to talk about it. I didn't want to talk about it," O'Donnell says in the video, which is titled "A Heartfelt View - on we Grow." "The truth is, I had a heart attack two years ago, and stress is very bad for heart attack survivors. ... I'm minimizing my stress by leaving The View."

O'Donnell also addressed the fact that she has split with Michelle Rounds, her wife of two and a half years. "The stress that I'm having at home is not as easily remedy-able. Is that even a word? I don't know," she says. "But it's hard. Marriage is complicated."

O'Donnell's last show will be Friday.
