Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) has had her hands full in the Marvel Universe cleaning up the scrapes and bruises of Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), but now she'll get a visit from mom when Luke Cage premieres in 2016.

Marvel announced Tuesday that Sonia Barga has been cast to play Claire's mom in the third Marvel Netflix series. While specifics about what Mama Temple will be doing in Hell's Kitchen are scarce for now, it will be interesting to see how she feels about the company her daughter has started keeping. First Claire dated Matt Murdoch in Daredevil, and comic book canon says that her relationship with Luke Cage (Mike Colter) won't be strictly platonic either.

Yes! Rosario Dawson is returning to the Marvel Universe in Luke Cage

"A character as strong as Claire needs an equally powerful mother, and with Sonia we found the perfect actress to deliver the stellar performance we needed," says executive producer, Jeph Loeb. "In Marvel's Luke Cage, fans will now get a chance to see where Claire got the fire we love her for."

Barga recently appeared in Royal Pains and had a guest-starring role on Brothers & Sisters.

Dawson makes an appearance in Marvel's Jessica Jones, now streaming on Netflix, but will have a larger role in the Luke Cage story line.
