Demons are the new zombies — at least according to Robert Kirkman. The Walking Dead creator made that declaration Friday at Comic-Con when announcing that a pilot for an adaptation of his latest comic, Outcast, was in pre-production at Cinemax.

Outcast will be Kirkman's first attempt at writing a pilot. And though it only released its debut issue last month, Outcast's sales have already exceededThe Walking Dead's at its peak. The story follows Kyle Barnes, a young man who's been plagued by possession since he was a child. He embarks on a journey to find answers, but uncovers what could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.
