LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian Wed

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian married Friday in an intimate ceremony in California, People reports.

"LeAnn and Eddie were happily married today surrounded by their closest family and friends," the bride's rep said in a statement to People. "They thank everyone for their well wishes."

Rimes, 28, and Cibrian, 37, exchanged vows in front of approximately 40 guests, including Cibrian's sons Mason, 7, and Jake, 4, from his first marriage. Rimes wore a Reem Acra gown.

The couple had told friends and family they had been invited to an engagement party, but surprised guests by saying their "I do's" at the ceremony, held at a private home in California. Their wedding rings were crafted by Brent Polacheck, who also created Rimes' 5-carat diamond engagement ring.

Rimes and Cibrian got engaged in December after dating for more than a year and a half. The pair met on the set of the 2009 Lifetime TV movie, Northern Lights, when they were both married to other people. Rimes was previously married to Dean Sheremet for seven years before splitting in 2009. Cibrian filed for divorce from wife Brandi Glanville in 2009 after eight years of marriage.
