What did we do to deserve this?

Well...someone thinks that Ricky Gervais is a good Golden Globes host. Gervais will be back to host the awards show for the fourth time, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Monday.

Gervais hosted the show for three years in a row before announcing in 2012 that he would never do it again. "I've told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again," he had written on his blog. At the time, he had been the first to host since 1995 when John Larroquette and Janine Turneremceed the show, which hadn't historically had a host.

The comedian was criticized over the course of his hosting run for offensive jokes that took jabs at Elton John, Justin Bieber, the cast of Sex and the City 2 and more. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler took over the gig for their own three-peat, to decidedly more positive reviews.

The 73rd Annual Golden Globes will air on Sunday, Jan. 10 at 8/7c on NBC. Do you think Ricky Gervais should host again? Had you hoped someone else would take the stage?
