RECOVERING

Former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Jason Priestley is expected to recover fully from injuries he sustained Sunday when his race car slammed into a wall at 180 mph during a practice run for the Kentucky 100, doctors said today. The 32-year-old actor suffered a concussion and broken back, as well as a broken nose and broken bones in both feet. He was transported via helicopter from the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta to the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. "He is becoming more aware of his surroundings," says Dr. Stephen Stapczynski. "He can verbalize his name. He can recognize his family and friends. His neurological function is the key here."
