Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub's first husband says he plans to sue her for slander, according to E!

"I am filing a lawsuit against my ex-wife, Danielle Staub, stemming from her allegations that I raped her on a bed of broken glass, inserted my handgun inside her and played Russian roulette, and last but not least, [killed] her dog by way of hanging it," said Kevin Maher, who was briefly married to Staub in the 1980s. "She also threatened me on the reunion show that Bravo aired."

On the Real Housewives series, Staub addressed claims made in Cop Without a Badge, a book Maher wrote about his life as a police informant. In the book, according to E!, Maher claimed that Staub went by the name Beverly Ann Merrill, had a history of prostitution and drug use and once faced federal charges in connection with an extortion plot.

Maher said his ex's comments about him "hurt my business and my reputation." He also told E! that he wants to watch the 47-year-old mother of two squirm on the witness stand rather than settle.

Staub's lawyer, Darren Del Sardo, told TVGuide.com that no lawsuit has been filed to date, but that it would be "frivolous at best."
