The nearly three-and-a-half-hour broadcast drew 43 million viewers, making it the most-watched Oscars since 2004 and the most-watched entertainment program since Friends' series finale in May 2004. The show also improved 6 percent on last year's audience, marking the third straight year the Oscars has increased its viewership.
