The London Olympics has broken yet another record!

The 2012 Summer Olympics from London have become the most-watched TV event in U.S. history with more than 219 million tuning in, which surpasses the 215 million who tuned in for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Averaging 31.1 million viewers over the 17 nights of the games, the London Olympics were also the most-watched non-U.S. summer Olympics in 36 years, up 12 percent over Beijing and 26 percent over the 2004 Athens games.

"For 17 days, NBCUniversal has surrounded the American viewer with the London Olympics, which have now become the most-watched event in U.S. television history," said NBC Sports Group Chairman Mark Lazarus.
