Reign Casts Lost Girl Alum as Queen Elizabeth

The end of Lost Girl could not have come at a better time for Rachel Skarsten.

The actress, who recently appeared in Fifty Shades of Grey, has joined The CW's Reignas Queen Elizabeth, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Skarsten will make her first appearance in the Season 2 finale, but will be a series regular in the previously announced third season.

Elizabeth's presence has loomed large over the series despite never having made an appearance. She's described as being beautiful and shrewd, and a "woman hardened too soon by life's events, but vulnerable when it comes to love."

"With her introduction, our world expands: The stakes grow even more heightened as we travel to another court filled with the beauty of privilege, passion and intrigue," executive producer Laurie McCarthy told the magazine. "The wait is over. Elizabeth is here. And I'm certain our audience will welcome her into the fold."
