Walden, whose early big-screen work includes such films as the first Out-of-Towners, Woody Allen's Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask and All the President's Men, first showed up on TV in NBC's The New Doctors, a medical drama that ran from September 1969 to June 1973. He joined the show in its last season to replace a character played by the departed John Saxon.

However, you're probably thinking of one of two other shows. From September 1977 to September 1982 he starred as ace investigative reporter Joe Rossi on CBS's Lou Grant. And in 1985 he began work as the co-star of Showtime's Brothers, a series that would easily be forgotten but for the fact that it was a pioneer in including openly gay lead characters. These days you can still catch Walden in features, his most recent role being in last year's Fluffers.
