If this makes it to air, it's gonna have the best theme song ever!

Psychcreator Steve Franks has teamed with Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo for a comedy based on the singer-songwriter's life, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Fall TV: Familiar faces in new places

Fox has already given a put-pilot commitment to the single-camera comedy, titled DeTour. The project is described as a coming-of-age story that is slightly out of order. It centers on a 30-something rock star who has trouble coming to terms with his success and subsequently walks away from the spotlight at the height of his fame so that he can rediscover the moments of his life he missed while he was busy skyrocketing up the charts.

In real life, Cuomo took a break from Weezer eight years ago to attend Harvard, where he made friends and met his wife, but somehow failed to get into the school choir.

Franks will write the script and executive-produce the comedy with Chris Henze (Psych) and Willie Mercer.

Weezer, known for hits "Buddy Holly" and "Island in the Sun," among others, has sold nearly 20 million albums and will release their next effort on Oct. 7. Franks is no stranger to the music industry either. His band, The Friendly Indians, was behind Psych's catchy theme song, "I Know You Know," and Franks wrote all the original music and lyrics for the show's 2013 musical special.

Psych went off the air in March after eight seasons.
