Prince's remains have been cremated and the singer was remembered by a family, friends and musicians in a private ceremony Saturday, according to a statement from his representatives.

Prince's family is keeping the final storage location of his remains private. Meanwhile, fans have paid homage to the singer outside of his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota. A musical celebration of Prince's life will be held at a future date, with details forthcoming, according to his rep.

Saturday Night Live dedicated its Saturday broadcast to Prince, airing skits featuring the singer and performances from 1981 to 2015. Jimmy Fallon hosted the special episode, which kicked off with a monologue about the music icon's "special presence" on the show over the past four decades.

The special also featured a never-before-seen video of Prince's surprise performance at the SNL 40 party last year.

Prince died on Thursday, April 21, reportedly from an accidental Percocet overdose. He was found unresponsive in the elevator of his Paisley Park home and declared dead by paramedics within minutes of their arrival. An autopsy has been conducted, but its results will not be released for at least four weeks, according to Prince's rep.
