Former President George H.W. Bush has been hospitalized for shortness of breath, USA Today reports.

2014 in review: Remember celebrities we lost this year

According to a statement from his staff, Bush, 90, was taken to Houston Methodist Hospital as a precaution Tuesday evening and will be held for observation.

The former president spent nearly two months in the same hospital before being discharged in January 2013 for treatment of a bronchitis-related cough and other health issues.

His troubled health, which includes the loss of use of his legs, hasn't stopped Bush from continuing his hobbies. For his 90th birthday in June, Bush celebrated by making a tandem parachute jump out of a helicopter in Maine.
