Original Voice of Charlie Brown Gets Year in Jail for Stalking

Peter Robbins, the original voice of Charlie Brown on the Peanuts TV specials, was sentenced to one year in jail for threatening his former girlfriend and stalking her plastic surgeon, The Associated Press reports.

Robbins will serve the sentence in a rehabilitation facility, where he will receive treatment for addiction to alcohol and prescription medications, according to the AP.

Robbins, 56, was arrested in January after police said he called his former girlfriend as many as 37 times over 24 hours and threatened to kill her and her son if she didn't return his dog and car. He also reportedly followed her plastic surgeon and wrote a note on her office door threatening to "break her in half." Lawyers said Robbins called the surgeon's office so often to demand a refund for his ex-girlfriend's breast enhancement surgery that the doctor moved to a hotel and hired a security guard.

Robbins pleaded guilty to the charges in April. He was sentenced to five years' probation and ordered to undergo treatment for domestic violence and stalking. In addition, he has to pay the plastic surgeon more than $15,000 and not contact her for 10 years, the AP reports. If Robbins violates his probation, he could be sentenced to up to nearly four years in prison.
