Episode 2 of FX's The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story tackles the famous Bronco chase, in which Simpson and his friend A.C. Cowlings led the Los Angeles Police Department (and news cameras) on a pursuit around Los Angeles for hours, after Simpson decided to flee minutes before his arrest.

American Crime Story shows O.J. (Cuba Gooding Jr.) and A.C. (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) zipping around the interstate, with Cowlings trying to remain calm as Simpson threatens suicide in the backseat, holding a gun to his head.

"A.C.'s driving around, really trying to buy O.J. some time so O.J. can really figure out and wrap his head around what's getting ready to happen," Jamal-Warner told TVGuide.com.

In order to film the sequence, the production shut down part of the 710 Freeway for an entire weekend, Warner says. "It was a blast," he recalls. "But I would say, even though I knew we were shooting a film here, there's something very surreal about looking in your rearview mirror and seeing 20 cop cars behind you."

See what else Warner has to say about the chase scene in the video above.

The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on FX.
