Sure, any television program would love to lay claim to having an Emmy on its mantle, but when it comes to track record and honor, there's nothing better than a Peabody Award. And CBS All-Access' Star Trek: Discovery has a shot at one.

The sci-fi series is one of the nominees for the Peabody Awards for the year 2017, which honor excellence in storytelling and importance in media and are handed out through a rigorous process by an esteemed group of jurors.

Also getting the call for nomination were The Good Place, Legion, One Day at a Time and The Handmaid's Tale. All together, 60 nominees were announced from a field of 1,200 programs. The nominees will be whittled down to 30 winners in the fields of Entertainment, Documentary, News, Public Service, and Radio/Podcast.
