An in-demand Paula Abdul says she has no official post-American Idol plans yet, but is trying to take in the "many wonderful" offers she has received in the wake of her surprise departure.
"At this point, there are so many wonderful things that are being offered to me," Abdul told the Associated Press. "And I got to take a deep breath, sleep a little ... and go through everything."

Katy Perry, Victoria Beckham to Be Guest Judges on Idol

Among them is a spot on So You Think You Can Dance. Dance executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe has been vocal about having the free agent on the series in some capacity. But Abdul says she has not discussed "anything with anyone" yet. "I am not going to rule that out. I'm a dancer, a choreographer. Dance is a love of mine," she said. "It's all happening within the next couple of weeks."Abdul, who, according to Fox Entertainment Chairman Peter Rice, turned down a "substantial raise" to stay on Idol, did not say if she could renegotiate or what it would take for her to come back to the series. Rice, however, said "negotiations have concluded."

See what else Fox said about Abdul's exit

Though Abdul hasn't taken any new jobs yet, she has been keeping busy. On Thursday, she filmed her second guest appearance on the Lifetime series Drop Dead Diva in Peachtree City, Ga. Abdul plays a judge doling out support and advice to Brooke Elliott's Jane in a dream sequence. Sounds familiar?"I'm good at that," Abdul said. "I think I've been good at that since I was a little girl. Just rooting people on and trying to get people to remember to believe in themselves."Her appearances air Sept. 13 and Oct. 11 — and she hopes that's not the end of her Diva-dom."I'm never going to change who I am at the core. I'm a hard worker, I love working hard and nothing gives me more joy than to be on a project and working with people who are trying to achieve the same goal," she said. "And that's where I'm at right now."
