Amy Poehler Says a Parks and Recreation Revival Would Be "Amazing"

Former Parks and Rec stars Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman are back together hosting an NBC crafting competition show Making It that premieres in July. The pair stopped by Ellen for Thursday's show, and Ellen DeGeneres brought up the revival of Will & Grace, which stars Offerman's wife Megan Mullally. That's a show that went away and then came back more popular then ever, the host said. Could the same thing happen for Parks and Rec?

"We said that if Beyoncé will play the mayor, we'll bring the show back," Offerman joked. The talk show host Oprah Winfrey would also be an acceptable mayor, Poehler added

Seriously, though, could Parks and Rec -- which we would guess is one of the most re-watched shows on streaming services right now -- get revived?

"I'll speak for everybody and say we would all do it," Poehler said. "I think we would all do it someday. It would be amazing."

That word "someday" is key. Poehler, Offerman, co-stars Chris Pratt, Aubrey Plaza and Rob Lowe, and creators Greg Daniels and Michael Schur are all very busy, and it would take some serious wrangling to get them all together. Plus, it's only been three years since the show went off the air. But maybe in another seven years or so NBC will bring it back for another season. It seems very possible based on Poehler and Offerman's statements/

In the meantime, Parks and Rec is streaming on Hulu and Netflix, and Making It premieres Tuesday, July 31 on NBC.
