The Parks and Recreation crew have a message for the National Rifle Association: stay far away from Leslie Knope.

Cast and crew members of the NBC sitcom put the NRA on blast after the gun lobbyists used a GIF of Amy Poehler's character to thank NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch for representing them during CNN's town hall in Florida on Wednesday evening regarding the recent mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

".@DLoesch thank you for being the voice of over 5 Million #NRA members," the organization wrote, accompanying the tweet with a GIF of Knope also saying thanks. This did not sit well with Parks and Rec creator and outspoken critic of conservatives Michael Schur, who urged them to delete the tweet.

"Hi, please take this down. I would prefer you not use a GIF from a show I worked on to promote your pro-slaughter agenda," he responded. Schur also delivered a message from Poehler: "Also, Amy isn't on twitter, but she texted me a message: 'Can you tweet the NRA for me and tell them I said f--- off?'" he added.

Others from the show chimed in including Nick Offerman who played her close friend and co-worker, Ron Swanson. ".@NRA @DLoesch our good-hearted show and especially our Leslie Knope represent the opposite of your pro-slaughter agenda -- take it down and also please eat s---," he said.

The NRA's tweet is still up as of Thursday morning.
