NBC Renews Parenthood for Second Season

NBC has picked up Parenthood for a second season, the network announced Tuesday.
"It's gratifying that Parenthood continues to garner critical acclaim and is generating highly positive reaction from viewers, thanks to the fearless creativity of its producers and the extraordinary performances delivered by its ensemble cast," Angela Bromstad, NBC's president of primetime entertainment, said in a statement.

A midseason replacement, the family drama — based on the Ron Howard film of the same name — has proved to be a solid performer for NBC, averaging 7.8 million viewers since its March debut. Parenthood also recently became the first show this season to defeat timeslot rival The Good Wife in the coveted adults-18-to-49 demographic.Are you excited for more Parenthood?
