Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) made a powerful enemy in the Outlander season premiere when she crossed Le Comte St. Germain (Stanley Weber).

However, the true extent of Le Comte's rage is still unknown though Saturday's episode proved he may be more dangerous than even Claire imagined. After surviving an attempted poisoning, Claire and Mary Hawkins (Rosie Day) are attacked on their way home to the Fraser dinner party and Le Comte is the lead suspect behind both terrible crimes.

"You [don't] expect what's going to come next," Webber tells TVGuide.com of his mysterious character. "He doesn't talk much. He seems to be very connected, very powerful, but you don't know much about him. You don't really know how far he could go to have his revenge...He's watching everything and everyone and that is scary."

Le Comte's silence is what sets him apart from the first season's villain, Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). Black Jack was terrifying due to his dark nature, but his depraved intentions were no secret. It's hard to imagine that anyone could be more evil than Randall, but the truth is we simply don't know what Le Comte is capable of and therefore he's even more intimidating than the British officer.

What exactly are the time travel rules on Outlander?

What we do know is that Le Comte has increased his power as he left the Fraser residence after the party with Bonnie Prince Charlie (Andrew Gower) -- a man with increasing resources that Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire need to keep in their control. Le Comte inviting himself into Prince Charlie's orbit only makes the Frasers' plan of sabotaging the Scottish rebellion that much more difficult and dangerous. To his credit, Weber is keeping Le Comte's plans close to his chest as well.

"I can only say that I definitely want to have revenge," he teases. "No matter how extreme it will be, [The Frasers] will pay. They will both pay."

Outlander continues Saturdays at 9/8c on Starz.
