Armie Hammer Left the Oscars to Shoot Hot Dogs Out of a Cannon, and It Was Amazing

We never knew we needed a hot dog cannon until now

Topping last year's bit at the Oscars, Jimmy Kimmel led a pack of celebs into a Hollywood theater full of unsuspecting moviegoers who thought they were attending a special screening of A Wrinkle in Time, and in the process made hot dog cannons the must-have item of 2018. (Also, people anywhere near the TCL Chinese Theater on Oscar night, how do you not suspect you're part of a Kimmel bit at this point?)

Kimmel led a pack of A-listers that included Lupita Nyong'o, Gal Goldot, Lin Manuel Miranda, Mark Hamill and Armie Hammer into a theater -- which smelled like weed he claimed -- who were on hand to pass out candy, share a giant sub and fire hot dogs from a hot dog cannon. "This is better than Halloween," Kimmel said to an audience going completely bonkers. The bit was Kimmel's way of showing gratitude to the people who go to the movies, and a star was born: Mike Young, the man with the awesome beard who got to introduce Tiffany Haddish and Mya Rudolph.
